Our Team

Lee Burton

Look, there’s going to be some stories here that deal with wizards, then there might be a story that deals with astronauts. The important thing is, what ties these stories together is that they all revel in the musicality of words, and celebrate imagination.

Burton lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland, with an artsy and beautiful library missus, and a fuzzy, foul-mouthed, four-legged intern.

Hang around long enough and he will somehow steer the conversation to stories of the seven years he spent tree planting and brushing in Ontario and B.C., and then have some nice things to say about his clients’ books.

Also, in 2011 he won the Percy Janes First Novel Award, and in 2017 was a finalist in The Writers of the Future contest, and took part in WANL’s Spring Tides Reading Series.

Hazel

Starting as an intern with Ocean’s Edge Editing in 2017, Hazel clawed her way up in the organization from lounging around in cardboard boxes pawing at misplaced commas, to lying around in boxes encouraging word counts and character development. Executive in charge of sleeping on burlap, merps, and sitting in shelves. Timekeeper of all mealtimes.

Job pays for kitty, as she reminds our team frequently.
